Glover Teixeira e Thomas almeida They achieved resounding victories on the main card of UFC Fight Night 77 and excited the crowd at Ginásio do Ibirapuera, in São Paulo. The Brazilians dealt harsh punishment to their opponents, respectively Patrick Cummins and Anthony Birchak, and recorded yet another triumph on their records.

The first to climb into the octagon was Thominhas. Pushed hard by his fellow countrymen, the Brazilian had a very hectic fight with Birchak, who ignored his opponent's knockout power and went for it. While Thomas was gaining the upper hand, Birchak tried to take the fight to the ground, but without success.

That was when the promise of Chute Boxe began to punish the North American, who clearly felt the blows he was taking. Thominhas connected with accurate punches on Birchak, who began to wobble around the octagon. With the calm of a veteran, the Brazilian managed the necessary blows to collapse Birchak, driving the audience crazy.

Then it was time to Glover Teixeira climb to the octagon. The Minas Gerais native initially faced difficulties with the wrestling of Cummins, who managed to take the fight to the ground despite not stabilizing his position. However, the American was unable to maintain his pace, which opened the chance for Glover to attack on his feet. The knockout almost came in the first round, but Cummins was saved by the bell. In the second round, Glover was willing to settle the bill. The Brazilian successfully attacked the North American, who already appeared to have surrendered. Teixeira pressed Cummins to the cage with several punches, which prompted referee Herb Dean to intervene. The main card of UFC FN 77 also saw a victory Alex Cowboy about Piotr Hallmann and the defeats of Fabio Maldonado e Gilbert Durinho, respectively for Corey anderson and Rashid Magomedov. Maldonado is dominated and loses again

Pushed by the fans, Maldonado was unable to impose his striking game against Corey anderson. The North American didn't give the Brazilian space, pressing the “Caipira de Aço” against the grid and mixing it with takedowns. After 15 minutes of competition, the TUF 19 champion completely nullified Maldonado's game and won the judges' decision without any fear. With this, Anderson, 26 years old, reaches his fourth victory in the UFC, after only one defeat. The Brazilian, on the other hand, lost for the third time in his last four fights, making his total 5-5 in the Octagon.

Durinho loses unbeaten record in MMA

Another setback for the home athletes in the second fight on the main card. Gilbert Durinho did not meet against Rashid Magomedov and suffered the first defeat of his professional MMA career, interrupting a streak of three wins in the UFC. Belfort's jiu-jitsu coach, Durinho started the fight well, taking the Russian to the ground. However, Magomedov gradually found his feet and began to avoid the Brazilian's takedown attempts. Rashid then punished Durinho standing up, even putting himself in serious danger in the second round. The knockout didn't come, but the victory ended up being a unanimous decision from the judges.

Cowboy dominates Polish and delivers first knockout of the night

Alex Cowboy he was the first Brazilian to win on the main card in São Paulo, and he did it with style. The Rio native undermined the Polish Piotr Hallmann and scored a beautiful knockout in the third round, being the first of the night to win without a decision or submission. Cowboy managed to dominate Hallmann for a good part of the fight, always connecting the best blows while standing. The Pole tried to react in the second round, when he managed to take down the Brazilian and stop the actions. In the final period, however, Cowboy hit two shots that knocked Hallmann down and settled the score.
