The real battle fought in the octagon during UFC 192, last Saturday, may have cost the Alexander Gustafson. The Swede, defeated by Daniel Cormier in a split decision by the judges, in a fight valid for the UFC light heavyweight belt, he received a long medical suspension, according to the list released by the Texas Regulatory Department.
Due to the injuries he accumulated during the fight, Gustafsson is expected to be out of action until April 1, 2016. The nature of his injuries was not disclosed. Cormier received a suspension of just over a month, which expires on November 18th.
In addition to Gustafsson, two other athletes received severe medical suspensions after UFC 192. Yair Rodriguez, who defeated Dan Hooker with an injured foot on the preliminary card, and Shawn Jordan, defeated by Ruslan Magomedov, are suspended indefinitely.
