Ronda Rousey achieved another important achievement for women in MMA. The UFC champion became part of the list of highest paid athletes in the world by the North American magazine “Forbes”, being the only one in the world of fights to achieve this feat.
According to the publication, Rousey pocketed, between June last year and June this year, an amount of US$6,5 million, which placed her in eighth place. However, due to the deadline, the fighter's payment for her most recent fight, at UFC 190, was not counted.
The list, in general, is dominated by tennis athletes, who have seven representatives – including first place, Maria Sharapova, with US$29,2 million. The ranking includes not only salaries, but also prizes and sponsorship contracts.
