The name of undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather is often mentioned in discussions about his hypothetical fights against MMA athletes. Even the UFC bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, has already been mentioned as a possible opponent for Mayweather in a “Dream Fight”. However, the American insisted that he has no interest in testing himself against a mixed martial artist.

Mayweather is considered the highest paid athlete in the world, having received a multimillion-dollar salary to step into the ring in his last fight, against Manny Pacquiao. Therefore, he considers that it would not make financial sense for him to face an MMA fighter.
“I'm in a $100 million business, not a $100 business. I shouldn't even be going down to certain levels, because it doesn't make sense. Guys, this is MMA, and I wish you nothing but the best. I have nothing negative to say about MMA. But I was dealt the best cards in life and I have to be grateful for that. I have nothing negative to say about anyone. I wish MMA all the best”, commented Mayweather, in an interview with the website of the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.
Asked if he would accept one day facing Ronda Rousey, the boxer joked. “You’re a comedian,” he replied.
At 38 years old, Mayweather has a record of 48 wins in 48 professional boxing fights. His next fight, which should mark his farewell to the sport, will be on September 12th, in Las Vegas (USA), against Andre Berto.
