“I'm reading a UFC reporter saying that they rejected renewing me, when the truth is that they have been trying to renew me in my last two fights. I rejected it and preferred to fight until the end of my contract to test the market with a free pass with Bellator. At that point, Bellator made me an offer that the UFC couldn't match, due to its relationship with Fox and Reebok. It's done, I'm back working with Coker, and I couldn't be more excited about returning to an organization that is growing, with contracts favorable to fighters. Any smart fighter goes where the money is, and for me, the money was in Bellator,” Thomson said in the official announcement of his signing.

Josh thomson joins Phil Davis e Josh koscheck, important UFC names who recently chose to leave the organization at the end of their agreements and accept an offer from Bellator. What the trio have in common is the representation of their careers by the same company, Zinkin Entertainment and Sports Management, which has a good relationship with Scott Coker. At 36 years old, Thomson arrives at Bellator with a professional record of 20 wins, eight losses and one fight without result. “Punk”, as he is known, comes from three consecutive setbacks, the worst series of his career.
