The overwhelming knockout suffered by Yoel romero in the main fight of UFC Fight Night 70, cost more than the second consecutive defeat in the Octagon for Lyoto Machida, the third in four fights. According to the Brazilian's manager, Ed Soares, Lyoto needed nose surgery right after the event last Saturday (27).
“After a long night in the hospital, I'm happy to tell everyone that Lyoto is doing well after surgery. The surgery went better than expected. We really appreciate everyone's support and concern. The Dragon will return”, wrote the agent, co-founder of the “Blackhouse” academy, on his official profile on Instagram.
After last weekend's setback, Lyoto Machida, 37 years old, now has a record of 22 wins and seven losses. After starting his career in the middleweight division very well and even competing for the category title, the former champion suffered his third defeat in the category and, possibly, should drop some positions in the official Ultimate rankings.
