The Brazilian Junior Gypsy certainly celebrated as much as the man himself Fabricio Werdum the victory of the UFC heavyweight belt by the gaucho last Saturday (13). Practically ruled out of a hypothetical fourth fight with the former champion Cain Velazquez, Cigano saw his dream of fighting for the title again benefit from Werdum's triumph in Mexico and wasted no time, taking to social media and launching a public challenge to his compatriot.

“I haven't said anything yet about the great victory that Werdum achieved against Velásquez. Werdum is to be congratulated, he fought like a true champion and showed tremendous evolution, not only fighting on his feet but also in his strategy. Since we fought in 2008, he has dedicated himself to becoming UFC champion, showing focus and perseverance throughout these years. And he got the result he deserved. I congratulate him and his team. Now, get ready, because it's between us! I'm going after this belt #WerdumVsDosSantos2”, wrote the fighter on his official profile. Instagram, along with a stylized drawing sent by Russian illustrator Farhad Kireev.
