According to the New York Post newspaper, the champion's book reports that after competing in the Beijing Olympics in 2008, where she finished with the bronze medal, the fighter became frustrated at not having achieved gold and lost interest in to compete. “Rousey began smoking and drinking heavily and would often start the day with cigarettes and vodka. She developed a habit of consuming a combination of marijuana and Vicodin. Ronda slept in the car, and when she found an apartment, all she could afford was a small studio,” says an excerpt from the book. Reports of lack of control continue elsewhere.

“On more than one occasion, dirt came up the drains and toilet, so I had to survive in an apartment full of shit. I don’t think I could go any lower,” Rousey described.
