After several protests from fighters and businesspeople, the UFC announced that it will change its financial compensation policy with the new sponsorship of the sporting goods company Reebok, which, starting in the second half of this year, will provide uniforms for all of the organization's athletes. .

Initially, payments would be made according to each athlete's position in the category's official ranking, with a larger amount being given to the highest placed fighters. However, as the ranking is established according to voting by specialized journalists from around the world, the UFC decided to use a more objective system.

Now, payment must be made according to the number of fights made by each athlete within the organization, which will also include fights made in the extinct WEC and Strikeforce events, which were acquired by Zuffa (the company that owns the UFC).

The system will classify five different categories: fighters who have one to five fights, six to ten, 11 to 15, 16 to 20 and more than 21. Exceptions to this format will be made in fights valid for the belt, with greater compensation being given to champions and challengers. More details should be released at the end of June, when the first uniform models will be revealed.

From UFC 189 on July 11th, which will feature the main fight José Aldo e Conor McGregor, all athletes from the largest MMA organization in the world must wear Reebok uniforms. Currently, some fighters already wear the brand's clothing inside the Octagon, such as Jon Jones, Conor McGregor, Anthony Pettis, Ronda Rousey e paige vanzant.
