Weidman hits back at Belfort: 'He forgot he was caught in many anti-doping tests'

Since when was the fight between Vitor belfort e Chris Weidman was announced for the first time, back in 2014, it was known that the anti-doping issue would be recurring and would stir up tensions for the title fight. Recently, after much controversy, Belfort went public and said he was being tested more than other fighters, demanding equal treatment for everyone. Upon hearing the Brazilian's statement, Weidman quickly took to social media and rebutted his rival, saying that the surveillance on him is justified due to the positive tests on his record.

“I think he forgot that he was caught in a lot of drug tests and part of his punishment was increased testing for the rest of his career. With that being said, I am open to being tested any day and any time,” the champion posted on his official profile on Twitter.

After more than a year of waiting, Vitor belfort e Chris Weidman they finally face each other on May 23rd, at the MGM Grand Garden, in Las Vegas (USA). The duel will be the co-main fight of UFC 187, an event headlined by the light heavyweight belt dispute between Jon Jones e Anthony Johnson. This will be Belfort’s first fight since November 2013, when “Fenômeno” knocked out the veteran Dan Henderson in Goiânia (GO). Weidman, on the other hand, has not stepped into the octagon since July last year, when he won Lyoto Machida by unanimous decision of the judges.
