In a press conference, the “Phenomenon” highlighted that he used the time away from fights to train hard at his gym, revealing that he is often put under pressure by his training companions. “I learned in life that any time given to me is a great thing. You can't buy time. The time was given to me and I use it by training every day, with guys like Anthony [Johnson] and Rashad [Evans] giving me a hard time every day. I am reinventing myself every day. That’s why I’m still here, evolving”, said the Brazilian. “I train every day and fight hard every week. It is difficult. I have tough guys pushing me in the gym every day. If you had a camera and could see how we train… So, there is no such thing as being rusty. I feel great.”
Although his fight against Weidman had already been postponed twice due to the champion's injuries, Belfort avoided criticizing his rival for the events. “We need to accept what happens, good and bad, and move on. That's how life is. I've been injured before. We were a little upset at first, but I try to put myself in his place. We are athletes and this is a tough sport. The sport is new and I think we are starting to gain maturity. Injuries happen, but it wasn’t a big deal”, he pondered.
the fight between Vitor belfort e Chris Weidman will be the second most important of UFC 187, which will be held in Las Vegas (USA). In the main fight of the attraction, Jon Jones defends the light heavyweight belt against Anthony Johnson.
