Jon Jones supports Anderson Silva after doping case: 'I will never see him as a cheater'

UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones once again expressed his support for Anderson Silva after the doping case in which the Brazilian was involved. The American stated that, although “Spider” has been caught on more than once with banned substances, he will never see him as a cheater.

Anderson Silva It was caught in the last few months in two different exams. In the first of them, weeks before his fight against Nick Diaz, the Brazilian had anabolic substances detected in his body. Then, on the day of the fight, Anderson was caught again taking anabolic steroids, in addition to anxiolytics.

In a press conference given shortly before UFC 184, last weekend, Jones showed his solidarity with Anderson, highlighting the difficult period in which the Brazilian was involved with the fracture he suffered in his leg in December 2013. “When you go through Because of a situation like the one he went through, there are a lot of people who want to give you advice on how to take care of your health. I will never see Anderson as a cheater. He managed to achieve unbelievable things in his career. He is still a guy that I admire and inspire me tremendously and I am rooting for him to get through all this and continue to be the champion that he has always been,” he stated.

The case of Anderson Silva will be judged soon by the Nevada Athletic Commission. If found guilty, the former middleweight champion could face a suspension, as well as a fine and the loss of his victory over Diaz.
