Mousasi faces Philippou in UFC Philippines co-main fight

The Ultimate organization also confirmed a duel between welterweights Neil Magny and Hyun Gyu Lim for the 16/05 card

UFC Fight Night 66, which marks the debut of the most famous octagon on the planet in the Philippines, has already confirmed its co-main fight. This is a duel between middleweights Gegard Mousasi and Costas Philippou.

At 29, Gegard Mousasi has a professional record of 35 wins, six defeats and two draws. Former DREAM and Strikeforce champion, Mousasi is coming off a triumph over the veteran Dan Henderson, in January. Costas Philippou, 35 years old, has a record of 15 wins, four losses and one fight without result. The Cypriot hasn't fought since May last year, when he beat Lorenz Larkin.

In addition to the duel between Mousasi and Philippou, the Ultimate organization also announced the duel between the welterweights Neil Magny and Hyun Gyu Lim. Magny is on the rise, with six consecutive victories in the last 13 months, and Lim is looking for his second consecutive victory, after beating Takenori Sato in September last year.

UFC Fight Night 66 takes place on May 16, in Manilla, Philippines. In the main fight of the night, former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar faces former bantamweight belt challenger Urijah faber, who will return to featherweight, the category in which he held the belt in the now defunct WEC, for the confrontation.
