Dejected, Swede says he learned from the setback and points out the challenger's favoritism against Jones

Alexander Gustafson He maintained his class even moments after the toughest defeat of his MMA career. The Swede, knocked out in his home country by Anthony Johnson in front of 30 fanatical fans, he avoided making excuses and recognized the merits of his opponent in the fight, which was the main attraction of UFC on FOX 14.

“MMA is already huge in Sweden and the fans have turned the event into something magical. I felt good before and during the fight, but I got hit. He took advantage of the opportunity and did what he needed to do to win the fight. He hit me,” said Gustafsson, at a press conference shortly after the event.

The Swede stated that his strategy was to avoid the open game with Johnson, but recognized the executioner's good work in closing the distance. “My strategy was basically to work round by round with my speed and movement. Despite his sadness with the result, Gustafsson assured that he learned lessons from the fight. “I'm going to take a few days to rest and then I'll go back to the gym. I always learn from my mistakes and today I learned that I have to keep my guard up at all times,” he commented.
