The confidence in his recovery is so great that Anderson joked when commenting on the situation of his left leg. “As I broke the bone and no ligaments were attached, they placed a titanium rod and made a ligament between my knee and ankle, they placed the rod inside the bone and the fibula remained loose because there was no way to put it in a cast. There was nothing I could do and the fibula went into place on its own. Now I’m almost like an X-Men”, commented “Spider”, in an interview with the program “Esporte Espetacular”, on TV “Globo”.
Anderson hopes to achieve his first victory since October 2012 against Diaz. “Thank God I’m fine. After a year off and the recovery was very difficult, but everything worked out and I'm back. I'm super excited and looking forward to fighting again and bringing joy to my country, my team and to all the Brazilians who supported me in my recovery. I want to bring this victory to Brazil, which is super important”, he concluded.
the fight between Anderson Silva e Nick Diaz will headline UFC 183 on January 31st. The fight will take place in the same gym where the Brazilian fractured his leg, the MGM Grand Garden Arena. If Anderson wins, the UFC has already confirmed that the former champion would fight for the belt again, against the winner of the fight between Chris Weidman e Vitor belfort, which will take place next month.
