When Anderson Silva Broken his leg in December 2013, some thought he would no longer be able to fight. After the recovery period and with his return to the octagon confirmed, the expectation began to be that the Brazilian would dedicate himself only to superfights, such as the duel against Nick Diaz on January 31st. However, to everyone's surprise, Spider's trajectory took another turn on Wednesday night (07), when president Dana White announced that Anderson will fight for the middleweight belt if he beats Diaz at UFC 183.

"Anderson Silva e Nick Diaz will fight and, obviously, if Anderson Silva win this fight, and with Chris Weidman ou Vitor belfort winning the fight between them, then we will have Anderson Silva against one of these two guys (for the belt)”, said the director, in an interview with the “UFC Tonight” program, the organization’s official newspaper on North American TV.

Dana also revealed how he expects the Brazilian to perform at UFC 183. “It's a very interesting fight. After the injury that Anderson Silva had, how will he be mentally? I think physically he is a guy who does the right things, works hard. He has been working out since the injury happened. He will definitely be in shape”, he pondered.

Away from the octagon over the last year due to a serious fracture suffered in his left leg, Anderson Silva makes its return on January 31st in front of Nick Diaz, in the main fight of UFC 183. Middleweight champion for almost seven years, between October 2006 and July 2013, Anderson has a professional record of 33 wins and six losses.

If he wins on his return, Spider will have a title-worthy rematch ahead of him. That's because Anderson already won Vitor belfort in 2011 and was defeated by Chris Weidman twice in 2013. Vitor and Weidman will duel for the 84 kg category title on February 28, in the main fight of UFC 184.
