Fourth placed among the roosters, Assunção reveals that he fractured his ankle

The Brazilian fighter's announcement came shortly after information about Dominick Cruz's new injury

Another prominent fighter in the UFC's bantamweight division will be sidelined indefinitely due to an injury. After Dominick Cruz announce that he injured his knee, it was time to Raphael Assunção reveal that he was injured during training.

Currently fourth in the official ranking of the under-61 kg category, Assunção has won seven consecutive victories, including a triumph over the current bantamweight champion, TJ Dillashaw, in October 2013. The Brazilian, who hoped to fight for the belt soon, announced the news on his account on Twitter.

“I am devastated to report that my hopes of fighting for the title will be further delayed due to a broken ankle during training. I'm sorry again”, said the Brazilian, who should have fought for the belt in May, against Renan Barao, but postponed plans due to a rib injury. In his place, Dillashaw fought, who ended up knocking out the Brazilian and taking the belt.
