Former UFC light heavyweight champion and former PRIDE middleweight GP, Mauritius Shogun He has one of the most enviable records in MMA, with titles in major organizations and victories over historic names in the sport. However, currently the moment the Curitiba native is experiencing is very different from what his retrospect suggests. After suffering his fourth defeat in five fights, with a lightning knockout to Ovince St Preux in the main fight of UFC Uberlândia last Saturday (08), Shogun took to social media and published a long outburst, in which he analyzed the recent setback and spoke about his phase and plans for the future.

In the midst of the published text, among thanks to the fans and explanations about the difficult stage experienced in recent years, the fighter's comment caught attention that for the first time, contrary to what he had always said until then, he is considering a change of category as an alternative. Furthermore, Shogun also assured that, after a brief rest, he will turn his attention to TUF Brasil 4, a program for which he will be one of the technical responsible, alongside his friend and former training partner Anderson Silva.

“I want to express my gratitude for everyone's support last Saturday night. I also want to thank you for the demonstrations of affection and strength I received after the fight.

Losing is always very bad, it hurts a lot, but what hurts the most is losing without being able to show what I trained and what I know how to do. A fight is a fight, and I know that at this weight any hand that comes in at the beginning of the fight can cost a lot. Many times in my career I have been on the happy side, and unfortunately this time I experienced the sad side of this story.

I know that a lot of people will get angry, some will criticize constructively and others will just take the opportunity to spout all kinds of mockery and insults possible. Unfortunately, it's part of being in the spotlight and it's something that as professional athletes, and especially in Brazil, we always have to be used to dealing with.

As much as many doubt it, I prepared a lot for this fight and was well trained, and that's what hurts most about losing like this, without being able to show what I trained. Anyone who followed, trained with me or saw my training knows this. When you lose fighting for a few rounds, minutes or so, in a way it's less painful because you really showed what you trained for and weren't capable of. But this way it really is very frustrating.

I made a technical error, perhaps out of anxiety and a lot of desire to win this victory in Brazil, and at such an important moment in my career, and I paid the price. Merits to St. Preux, he was part of the fight and he deserved to win.

Now I'm going to rest, enjoy my family and then think about the next steps, TUF Brazil or maybe a change of category, but I'm moving on because winning is easy, but continuing in the battle and coming back is what makes someone a true fighter . Thank you for everyone's affection.
