The release of the dates for the TUF Brasil 4 tryout had an impact on the Brazilian MMA calendar. O Jungle Fight changed the date and location of the 74th event in order to allow its athletes to participate in the tests that will choose the fighters for the new season of the reality show in Brazil.
Originally, the attraction was scheduled for November 1st, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). However, as the tryouts will be on October 27th, it was decided to postpone the event until November 29th. The location has also been changed and will be in São Paulo.
In addition, the event card has also changed. Jonas Bilharinho and Fabiano Jacarezinho, who would face each other for the bantamweight belt, were removed from the attraction, as they signed up to participate in the selection.
With more than ten of his athletes eyeing a place in TUF, the president of Jungle, Wallid Ismail, made a point of highlighting the importance of the program for the development of national MMA.
“I had to make this change because most of our athletes weighing 57 to 70 g are going to make the TUF tryouts. I fully support them trying to get on TUF and showing their work to the general public. For me and for Brazilian MMA, it is very important that this TUF is one of the best, and I believe it has everything to be because these categories are the best in Brazil”, said Wallid.
