the irish Conor McGregor It's already a reality in the UFC. Owner of a very peculiar style, strong statements and impressive results, “The Notorious”, as he is known, has had a meteoric rise in the Octagon and, for many, is about to jump the queue in the featherweight division. Already eyeing the belt after another convincing victory over Dustin poirier last Saturday (27), McGregor targeted the champion José Aldo and your next challenger Chad Mendes to exalt yourself.

“I believe I will dismantle both. Chad is 1,67m tall and thick. He was supposed to be bantamweight, but he crossed that limit. Now he's just a little bodybuilder stuck in the featherweight division. He gets tired quickly. I have more than 20 cm of wingspan advantage and I will be huge against him. I would slaughter Chad. And José (Aldo), again, I feel that he is on that path of deterioration. So once again, it would be another easy win. It seems to me that the division is full of newcomers and outdated guys. I'm just here having fun, collecting checks along the way and eliminating each one”, said the Irishman at the press conference after the event in Las Vegas (USA).

Furthermore, Conor also spoke about his desire to fight for the belt. “At the end of the day, as long as I show up and my check has what I say it should have, then I show up and kill whoever they put in front of me. Of course I want that gold belt, don't try to tell me that gold belt here on this table wouldn't look great next to this ivory elephant suit I'm wearing right now. It would be perfect! I know Dana (White) wants to see this, I know Lorenzo (Ferittta, UFC CEO) wants to see this, shout out to Uncle Frank (Fertitta, also owner of the event), I know he wants to see this! It's what the fans want, it's what I want. I said I would knock out Poirier in one round, no one has ever knocked him out in one round. No one has done this to Dustin before, he's a great guy, I have nothing but respect for him. I don’t just knock them out, I also pick the round,” he said.

At 26, Conor McGregor has a professional record of 16 wins and two losses. Former lightweight and featherweight champion of the European Cage Warriors event, McGregor debuted in Ultimate in April last year and has since won four victories. The Irishman had his presence confirmed at the Maracanãzinho Gymnasium for UFC Rio 5, on October 25th, when the Brazilian José Aldo defends the featherweight belt against the American Chad Mendes.
