Cormier wants to train with Anderson Silva and Lyoto to challenge Jon Jones

In an interview, the challenger raised the possibility of training with Brazilians in California for UFC 178

A heavyweight association could be close to being established in order to dethrone the light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Confirmed as next challenger after Swede's injury Alexander Gustafson, the former Strikeforce heavyweight GP champion Daniel Cormier intend to turn to none other than Anderson Silva e Lyoto Machida to further develop his game and win the 93 kg division belt on September 27th, when he faces Jones at UFC 178.

“I have some friends and they put me in touch with some guys down in Southern California, with Anderson Silva e Lyoto Machida. I can go there for a week. This is a possibility. We haven’t worked out the details yet, but it’s a possibility and we’ll see what happens,” said Cormier, in an interview with “The MMA Hour” podcast. In addition to the Brazilian duo, former fighter Cyrille Diabate and light heavyweight Phil Davis they should also help you during preparation.

On September 27th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas (USA). Jon Jones puts his belt on the line for the eighth consecutive time. The challenger this time is the undefeated Daniel Cormier. The fight is the main event of UFC 178. The event also marks the return of the former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz after almost three years out due to a series of injuries. On the night, Cruz faces Japanese Takeya Mizugaki.
