Lawyer does not believe in future complications for Wand to obtain a license to fight in Vegas

This Tuesday (17), the Nevada Athletic Commission chose to postpone any type of decision on the case Wanderlei Silva, who refused to undergo a surprise anti-doping test requested by the organization and ended up being cut from UFC 175. With the extension of the opinion, the episode could still result in sanctions for the Brazilian in the future, if he requests a license to perform in Las Vegas. But for Wand's lawyer, Ross Goodman, the scenario is not a concern and the “Mad Dog” will have no problem fighting in the state.

“Based on what the committee members said, if Wanderlei wants to fight here again one day, he will have to go through the process of obtaining a new license, including pre- and post-fight drug tests. I think this will be mandatory in the case of a new license and, if Wanderlei does everything right, I don't believe he will have any type of problem in these anti-doping tests”, said Goodman on the “Combate” channel website. “They never requested medical examinations, this was just an information hearing. We cooperated with the information on our part and fulfilled our role”, he added.

At the end of May, Wanderlei Silva was cut off from the fight against Chael Sonnen at UFC 175 and replaced by Vitor belfort after refusing to take a surprise drug test required by the Nevada Athletic Commission. Soon after, it was time to Chael Sonnen being removed from the fight after being caught using illegal substances in another surprise test. With the American's departure, the fight was suspended and Belfort also left the event. The series of cancellations was a frustrating outcome for the story of Sonnen and Wanderlei, who have had an intense rivalry in recent months and, especially, during TUF Brasil 3.
