the controversial Chael Sonnen announced the end of his MMA career. This Tuesday, one day after getting caught in the UFC 175 drug test, the American revealed his decision on the UFC Tonight program, where he is the official presenter. “I want to officially announce my retirement as an athlete”, he summarized.
The fighter, who suffers from hypogonadism (a deficiency in testosterone production), once again complained about the ban on TRT – Hormone Replacement Treatment – which was recently banned by the Nevada Athletic Commission (the body that regulates UFC events in Las Vegas). Sonnen stated that he took anastrozole and clomiphene, substances detected in his examination, as it was part of the fertility treatment. Chael confirmed that after several attempts, his wife managed to get pregnant after treatment and is expecting the couple's first child.
