“Wanderlei is out of the UFC. Shortly after the UFC 175 press conference, which took place the day before UFC 173 in Las Vegas, members of the Nevada Athletic Commission came to his gym for a surprise drug test. Wanderlei simply ran away from them, running out the back door of the gym. He got into his car and drove away. Then, from what I heard, he got on a Malaysian Airlines flight somewhere, and I didn't hear from him again,” Dana White told the English magazine Fighter's Only.

The UFC president also made a point of highlighting that the Nevada Athletic Commission is very strict about exams before fights and guaranteed that Vitor belfort, chosen to replace Wand in the fight against Sonnen, agreed to go through the entire process to obtain a license to perform on the show.

“If you don't take the exams asked of you by the NSAC (acronym for the Nevada Athletic Commission), they simply won't grant you a license to fight in the state. As soon as we offer the fight to Vitor belfort, he accepted. Sonnen also accepted. Everything now depends on Vitor obtaining the license. He will have to take all the tests and exams that the Commission requests, and I think there will be many. The meeting that will decide the issue is on June 16th, and I am confident that Vitor will get the license”, he concluded.
