Stefan Struve returns to fighting in July and faces Matt Mitrione at UFC 175

Dutch giant was out of action for more than a year due to a heart problem

After a long time away from fighting, Stefan struve Finally, his next UFC commitment has been made official. On July 5th, at UFC 175, the Dutch giant will face Matt Mitrione in the city of Las Vegas, in the US state of Nevada.

Since arriving in the UFC in 2009, Struve has remained one of the most active athletes in the heavyweight division. However, last year he was diagnosed with a leak in his aortic valve, which caused his heart to increase considerably in size. From then on, the Dutchman stopped working to undergo treatments to repair the problem, which was successful.

At 26 years old, Struve has a record of 25 wins and six losses in professional MMA, being 9-4 in the UFC. He has already beaten names like Stipe Miocic, Lavar Johnson, Pat Barry and Paul Buentello, while their losses in the Octagon were to the feared junior gypsy, Roy Nelson, Travis Browne and Mark Hunt – this, his last opponent, in March 2013.

A veteran of TUF 10, Mitrione fought all of his professional MMA fights within the UFC. His record is seven wins and three losses, having lost to the experienced Cheick Kongo, Roy Nelson e Brendan Schaub. In his last fight, he knocked out Shawn Jordan in March this year, in Macau.

UFC 175, which will be held close to Independence Day in the United States, promises to be one of the biggest events of the Ultimate season. In the main fight, Chris Weidman defends the middleweight belt against Lyoto Machida, and another title will be at stake in the women's category: Ronda Rousey puts your invincibility to the test against Alexis Davis. In addition, the event will also feature the long-awaited fight between TUF Brasil 3 coaches, Wanderlei Silva e Chael Sonnen.
