For Wanderlei Silva, the editing of images from TUF Brasil 3 did not show the entire context of the events that culminated in his fight with Chael Sonnen during the recording of the program.

In an interview given to the UFC website, released on video this Thursday (1st), the Brazilian fighter stated that there was a lot that ended up being left out of the version shown on television. “What was shown was not really everything that happened. Behind what happened, there is still motivation, why I was angry that day. In addition to making many absurd statements about us, he was provoking me behind the scenes. In the first program he already called me stupid, and at no point did I lower my level and call him this or that”, he stated.

The former PRIDE star continued: “Not everything that appeared there was actually what it is. It's a week of recording for an episode to come out. A lot of things were edited, and unfortunately the production cast me as the villain. But not quite. This good guy you see isn't quite like that, no. On top of all that, there were things he did that weren’t shown,” he explained.

The stance presented by Wanderlei on TUF has received a lot of criticism from the public. The Brazilian stated that what is seen reflects his personality. “This is not marketing. That is the real Wanderlei Silva. I can't fake it. Now that you see everything that happened, a lot of people will change their opinion,” she declared.

Furthermore, Wanderlei confirmed that the postponement of the fight, from May to July, happened precisely due to the fight with Sonnen in São Paulo. “Unfortunately, at that moment when he took me down, I ended up hurting my back and my hand a little. I wouldn't have time to fight on May 31st. I asked Dana White for a little more time to prepare”, explained the fighter.

Finally, Wanderlei left open the possibility of even retiring after the fight with Sonnen. “I tell you that only God knows. I'm coming off good fights, with four bonuses. I'm managing to move the audience and, as long as I can do that, I'll be there. But I do not know. After the fight is over, you will know,” he said.

the fight between Wanderlei Silva e Chael Sonnen is scheduled for July 5th, in Las Vegas, in the United States, at UFC 175.
