Heavyweight Travis Browne was completely dominated by the Brazilian Fabricio Werdum in the main fight of UFC on FOX 11, an event held last Saturday (19), in Orlando, in the United States. After a good start to the fight, where he almost managed to knock out the Gaucho, the Hawaiian lost his way and was defeated by the judges' unanimous decision. Browne's drop in performance was justified by UFC president, Dana White. The manager revealed that the Hawaiian broke his hand and may have broken a rib in the first round of the fight.
After the confrontation, Browne went straight to a local hospital and did not attend the post-event press conference. Dana explained the American's absence and his early fatigue during the fight.
“My question is: how did Travis run out of gas just two and a half minutes into the first round? It looks like he broke a rib in the first round. That would explain the tiredness. He definitely broke his hand,” White said.
With the victory against Browne, Werdum guaranteed the chance to fight for the UFC heavyweight belt against the champion Cain Velazquez, in a duel that should take place in November.
