Brazil has three fewer representatives in the UFC fighter roster. This is because the organization decided to release Ronny Markes, Thiago Bodão e Rafaello Tractor after their most recent defeats, and their names no longer appear on the list of athletes on the official UFC website.

Markes, 25 years old, had five fights within the UFC, winning three. He arrived in the organization with good morale in 2011, after accumulating a winning record, including a triumph over the veteran Paul Philo. After beating Karlos Vemola, Aaron Simpson and Andrew Craig, Markes lost his unbeaten record in the UFC when he was knocked out by Yoel romero, in November last year. His return to fighting, at UFC Natal, in March, was not as expected. Markes didn't make weight for his division and was quickly knocked out by Thiago Marreta.

Bodão, a member of the first season of TUF Brasil, managed to debut in the UFC with a beautiful victory over Leonardo Macarrão at UFC 147, in Belo Horizonte. However, the successful trajectory ended there: later, Bodão was defeated by Omari Akhmedov and by Kenny Robertson, also at UFC Natal.
