UFC announces fight between Weidman and Belfort for May

The long-awaited fight between Chris Weidman e Vitor belfort There is already a date for it to happen. At the end of the preliminary card of UFC 169, the organization announced that the duel will be the main attraction of the 174th edition of the show, on May 24th, in Las Vegas. The event, one of the most important in Ultimate of the year, pays homage to war heroes in the United States, the so-called 'Memorial Day' (always celebrated on the last Monday of May).

Speculation about the date of the duel between Weidman and Belfort has been ongoing since UFC 168, in December last year, when the North American defeated Anderson Silva by technical knockout. UFC president, Dana White, revealed that he was trying to schedule the duel for May or July, but believed the clash would only take place in the second half of the year. However, tonight's confirmation reduced fans' wait.
