Cung Le dreams of a rematch against Wanderlei Silva in August

Having been away from fights since he knocked out Rich Franklin at the end of 2012, Cung le he already has a possible opponent in mind for his next fight. He would be Wanderlei Silva, who defeated him in November 2011 in his UFC debut.

The North American born in Vietnam is going through a recovery phase after having undergone surgery to repair injuries, in addition to having participated in the recordings of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter China.

“I’ve had three elbow surgeries since I last fought. The recovery has been great. I'm doing physiotherapy and diet – something I don't like, but it helps”, said Le, in an interview with the North American website Fight Hub. “I'm doing a lot of cardio work, I'm lifting weights, but I'm not sparring.”

The fighter plans to return to active duty in August. “For me, the dream fight would be a rematch against Wanderlei. I know I could have done better. I don’t make excuses, but I know I could have done better,” he declared.

PUBLICITY:

In the co-main event of UFC 139, Le got the better of Wanderlei in the first round, even knocking the Brazilian down with a round punch. However, in the second period, Wanderlei used knees to end the fight, culminating in Le's second defeat in his career.
