Sergio Pettis is confident that the path to victory against Alex Caceres, at UFC on Fox 10, is the striking. The brother of the lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis, and the TUF 12 participant will face each other this Saturday (25), in Chicago, in the United States, in a fight valid for the bantamweight category.

In an interview with the North American website Sherdog, Pettis showed that he is confident that he will prevail in the stand-up fight, even if his opponent has a size advantage. “I want to stay out of his reach and use a lot of kicks. He has a great wingspan, but I don't think he uses it correctly. I feel like I can beat him on his feet throughout the fight,” said the 20-year-old fighter.

Pettis evaluated Caceres' characteristics as a fighter and revealed that he admired him before debuting in MMA. “Alex has been fighting for a long time. He's already fought at lightweight and now he's at bantamweight. I've watched him several times and even rooted for him, and now I'm going to face him. He's very athletic, good on the ground and striking, but his wrestling isn't the best. So, I think he will try to fight me standing up,” he said.

Pettis will seek to maintain his undefeated record in MMA, which already has 10 victories – including one in the UFC, when he beat Will Campuzano in the judges' decision in edition number 167, in November last year. Caceres, in turn, has a more irregular record, with nine wins, five defeats and one no-contest (fight without result, when he beat Kying Ho Kang, but failed the anti-doping test).

The main fight of UFC on Fox 10 will be between lightweights Benson Henderson and Josh thomson. Three Brazilians will participate in the event: Gabriel Napao faces Stipe Miocic, Adriano Martins faces Donald Cerrone and Hugo “Wolverine” will face Ramiro Hernandez.
