TUF Brasil will have its third season in 2014.
According to the North American website MMA Fighting, the third Brazilian season of reality show The Ultimate Fighter will feature fighters from the middleweight (up to 84 kg) and heavyweight (up to 120 kg) categories.
Although the selection also featured light heavyweight athletes (up to 93 kg), the UFC board decided not to use them in the program. If the news is confirmed, it will be only the third time in more than 20 editions that fighters from the organization's heaviest category will participate in the show.
In the first of them, in 2005, Rashad evans He became champion after beating the giant Brad Imes, 2,01 meters tall, in the decision. Years later, Evans, this time as a coach, commanded Roy Nelson towards the title of the show's tenth season, beating another fighter on his team, Brendan Schaub.
Recordings for the program, according to the North American website, should begin on January 12th, and the program will air between March and May. The coaches will be the rivals Wanderlei Silva e Chael Sonnen, the first foreigner to command a team in the Brazilian version of TUF.
