Demian Maia: “I can beat Anderson Silva”

Prepared to face Chael Sonnen, the brazilian Demian Maia, believes that in case of victory over the American he could compete for the Ultimate middleweight belt. The black belt analyzed a possible duel against the current champion of the category, Anderson Silva.

“I think my jiu-jitsu would give me a big advantage (against Anderson Silva). I have superior jiu-jitsu, and I can put it into action. But Anderson is, for me, the best fighter in the world. Very good, very complete and very difficult to beat. He has more experience than me, but I would like to challenge him,” he said. Demian Maia which further completed:

“I think he's the best fighter in the world, but I can win if I fight him,” said the Brazilian in an interview with the American website MMA Fanhouse.
