On the eve of his fight on 'Dana White's Contender Series', Brazilian Willian Souza, 'Colorado', went through a personal drama. The bantamweight (up to 61,2kg.), who would face Farid Basharat this Tuesday (26th), in Las Vegas (USA), had problems with the weight cut and exceeded the required limit by around 4,5kg. As a result of the incident, the Sergipe native had his commitment canceled by the Nevada Athletic Commission.
With titles on cocks and feathers Jungle Fight, Willian would have the opportunity to win and convince in the program that accredits athletes to fight in the UFC. The athlete, however, saw his dream postponed.

Moments after going through the delicate moment at the weigh-in, 'Colorado' used social media to vent about what happened. The fighter admitted to having felt ill during the dehydration process.
“Unfortunately, my fight was cancelled. I failed the weight cut and couldn't reach the category limit. I had already lost 16,5kg, but I felt sick in the final stretch, leaving 4,5kg left.”, wrote the Brazilian, in his profile on Instagram.
Despite the failure, Souza guarantees that the dream was not interrupted. The athlete remains confident of receiving a new opportunity in the 'Contender Series' in the future.
“It wasn’t a good day, but it doesn’t end here. (…) The dream was only postponed and let those against it explode”, she concluded.
Professional in MMA since 2017, Willian, aged 26, has 12 appearances in his career. Today, the athlete has 11 wins and one loss.
