Highlight of the lightweight ones (up to 70,3kg.), Islam makhachev is confident that he can emerge with his 'arms raised' in a possible fight against Charles of the Bronx by the organization's vacant title. The conviction that he will become the new champion made the Russian ironize the comment of Demian Maia, who stated that he was capable of betting on his compatriot's victory in the clash.
“I remember a guy who bet his house and lost on my fight against (Dan) Hooker. Don't make the same mistake, Demian. Save your money,” Makhachev wrote on his official account on 'Twitter'.

According to Demian, Charles has the game necessary to break Makhachev's streak in Ultimate. The veteran highlighted that the confrontation would be balanced, but says he trusts his compatriot, as being capable of betting on his victory with bookmakers. Islam, however, can still make another appearance before fighting for the category belt.
At 30 years old, Islam has 23 appearances as a professional in MMA. Currently, the athlete has a record with 22 triumphs and one stumble. The fighter currently has 10 consecutive victories with the Ultimate gloves. In his last fight, he overcame Bobby Green by technical knockout, in the first round.
