At PFL 5 2022, Cappelozza ended up having his first setback with the company's gloves. Before being surpassed by Buffa, the São Paulo native accumulated five consecutive victories, which earned the athlete the heavyweight belt and the dream prize of US$1 million.

Although he lost in the challenge against his compatriot, Bruno has something to celebrate. With six points added in the regular season, the fighter qualified for the semifinals and could still reach his second title.
