He didn't win, but he took it. Current heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg.), Bruno Cappelozza He was unable to repeat his great performances. Star of PFL 5 2022, event held this Friday (24), in Atlanta (USA), the fighter had problems against Matheus Buffa and suffered his first defeat with the organization's gloves, being beaten by unanimous decision from the judges. The fighter, however, achieved the necessary score to advance to the next stage in the category tournament.
Even with the negative result, Cappelozza ends the regular season with six points. The fighter is in fourth place on the leaderboard.

A dark horse in the betting shops, Buffa managed to show that he has the ability to dream big in the company. After being beaten in his debut, the fighter recovered against one of the biggest names on the PFL's recent roster. The athlete, however, did not achieve the necessary score for the knockout stage.
The fight
The confrontation began with the athletes exchanging blows in the center of the decagon. Cappelozza risked combinations of punches and low kicks, and Buffa tried to find the best distance for the attacks. The duel was tense, with the fighters avoiding a possible fatal mistake. Halfway through the stage, Bruno launched a series of crosses, but the attack did not shake Matheus. Near the final minute, Buffa shook his compatriot with a series of punches. Cornered, Cappelozza tried to free himself, but was punished by his opponent. In the final seconds, Buffa tried to settle the bill, but Bruno managed to resist.
In the second stage, Bruno took the initiative with a low kick followed by two straight shots. Buffa responded with a cross. Matheus scored with jabs, while Cappelozza launched attacks from the waistline. The duel was balanced, with the Brazilians exchanging blows in the center of the decagon. In the final seconds, Cappelozza attempted a takedown, but Matheus defended himself well. The stage ended with the athletes studying each other.
In the last round, the athletes started to engage in frank exchanges in the opening seconds. Halfway through the round, Cappelozza tried to take him down again, but Buffa was aware of his compatriot's intentions. The duel ended warmly, with the fighters studying each other in the center of the decagon.
