Former UFC fighter has perfect strategy and wins Brazilian duel this Saturday; fighter does not reach the points to advance in the heavyweight tournament

In one of the biggest challenges of his career, Klidson Abreu shone. Opponent of Renan Problem at PFL 5 2022, held this Friday (24), in Atlanta (USA), the ex-UFC strictly followed the strategy outlined by his team and surprised the 'giant' in the quarterfinals of the heavyweight tournament (up to 120,2 .XNUMXkg.). Using takedowns, the fighter controlled his compatriot's aggression and won by unanimous decision from the judges.

With the result, Klidson reaches six points in the championship and momentarily takes fourth place in the table. The athlete, however, ended up not qualifying due to Matheus Buffa's victory against Bruno Cappelozza.

A Brazilian standout in the PFL, Problema had reasons to celebrate. For a moment, the athlete was outside the classification zone for the knockout stage. The fighter, however, managed to come in third.

The fight

The confrontation began with the fighters studying each other in the center of the decagon. Problem took the initiative with a high kick, which stopped in Abreu's guard. Klidson responded with a direct shot, also saved by his compatriot. The confrontation remained tense, with the athletes launching powerful attacks. Halfway through the round, Abreu feinted an overhand and went for his opponent's legs. The former UFC fighter got the takedown and started working on transitions. In the final seconds, Klidson was on top, controlling the actions.

In the second round, Problema came back aggressive and, in the opening seconds, rocked Abreu with a straight shot. Renan continued to propose a confrontation, and launched a high kick, which stopped in his compatriot's guard. At a disadvantage in his striking, Klidson once again bet on the takedown and took down the 'giant'. On top, the former UFC fighter continued to dominate and didn't allow Renan to get up. Halfway through the round, Abreu attempted a submission, but Problema tried to stop the fight. Klidson attacked with ground and pound, but there was no more time.

In the last round, Klidson took down again. From below, Renan showed signs of fatigue and was unable to stop his opponent's advances. Even without being forceful, Abreu continued to nullify Problema. The confrontation ended with the former UFC fighter striking from below.
