Ultimate forwards fight between Paulo Borrachinha and Luke Rockhold to UFC 277, says website

Brazilian highlight in Ultimate middleweight, Paulo borrachinha is close to having its first challenge of the 2022 season confirmed. According to the 'ESPN', the Brazilian has a verbal agreement for a confrontation against Luke Rockhold protocols for UFC 277. The event takes place on July 30th and does not yet have an official location.

Former challenger for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg), Borrachinha can finally make his long-awaited debut this season. In recent weeks, the Minas Gerais native had criticized his division colleagues for not taking on his challenges.

If the fight is confirmed, Paulo will face off against a former star of the company. An MMA veteran, Rockhold was division champion between 2015 and 2016.

With the dream of regaining his status as a challenger for the title in the under-83,9kg category, the Brazilian will step into the octagon pressured for a victory. The athlete is experiencing an unprecedented moment in his career, having had two stumbles in a row.

Former group champion, Luke will return to action after three years of inactivity. In his last fight, the North American had his test at light heavyweight (up to 93 kg.) frustrated, being severely knocked out by Jan Blachowicz in the second round.
