Daniel Cormier blasts Jake Paul for challenging retired Michael Bisping and demands: 'Challenge Anderson Silva'

Commentator criticizes YouTuber's attack on veteran boxing challenge and questions 'Spider's' absence from list of opponents

Former double UFC champion and current commentator for the organization, Daniel Comier did not like the challenge of Jake Paul to the retired Michael Bisping for a super boxing fight. Critic, DC blasted the youtuber and questioned the absence of Anderson Silva on the digital influencer’s list of future opponents. 'Spider' has done well in the 'noble art' since leaving Ultimate.

“You want an older guy as your opponent? There is a former UFC champion who is doing the same thing as you (boxing). His name is Anderson Silva. He's the one you should be facing, Jake. That's the name you should be asking for. Do you know the reason? Anderson is still active. He's a former champion, he's into 'amateur' boxing, because he has, I don't know, five boxing fights, just like you. He’s his size and the age you like,” said Cormier, on his channel on YouTube.

New boxing sensation, Paul is undefeated in five amateur boxing appearances. In 2021, the youtuber shocked the world by running over two former MMA champions.

Former belt holder in Bellator and ONE Championship, Ben Askren was one of the victims. The veteran retired from combat sports and ended up brutally knocked out by the digital influencer.

Former UFC champion, Tyron woodley he also got the worst of Jake, and twice. In the first confrontation, the athlete was surpassed by points and, in the immediate rematch, he was harshly erased by the digital influencer.

Considered by many to be the best MMA fighter of all time, Anderson Silva has been on a successful path since leaving the UFC and deciding to put on boxing gloves. In his first performance outside of Ultimate, 'Spider' surprised by beating the former world champion in the 'noble art', Julio César Chávez Jr.

The legend will fight on May 14, against compatriot Bruno Machado. The event will also feature a performance by Floyd Mayweather.
