The month of March presented MMA fans with great events, fights, knockouts and submissions, but it also did not go without its share of controversies. On this last day of the month, the SUPER FIGHTS recalls three cases that went beyond the sports headlines and ended up on the police pages.

The Cain Velasquez Case
The first major controversy of March began on the last day of February, but continued throughout this month. On February 28th, Cain Velazquez was arrested in California (United States). The first information indicated that the former champion had been involved in a shooting that left a man injured.
In the following days, it was revealed that Cain Velazquez had, in fact, been arrested for attempted murder against a man accused of molesting a relative of the fighter more than 100 times, whose identity was preserved because she was a child. In the incident, the former champion ended up hitting the alleged abuser's father-in-law, who was hospitalized without risk of death.
Despite the mobilization of several personalities from the fight world in favor of his release, the former UFC heavyweight champion had his request for bail denied and remains in prison.

Fight between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington ends in arrest
Continuing the list, the famous rivalry between Colby covington e Jorge masvidal reached another level. Weeks after having a tepid duel in the main fight of the UFC 272, on March 5th, the rivals staged regrettable scenes in a restaurant in Miami, in the United States.
Wearing a mask and a hood, Jorge masvidal surprised Colby covington and attacked his rival inside the “Papi Steak” restaurant in Miami Beach. The owner of the Ultimate “BMF” belt broke a tooth and fractured a rib of the former interim welterweight champion in the confusion, but ended up arrested after Covington filed a complaint with the police. The fighter was later released after posting bail.

In yet another controversy for the collection, Conor McGregor is arrested and his car is seized
Nothing unrelated to controversies throughout his career, Conor McGregor added one more to its massive collection this month. Former featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) and lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) champion, the Irishman was arrested for dangerous driving on May 22 in the west of Ireland.
Conor McGregor He was arrested after driving above the permitted speed, but was soon released after paying bail. In addition to being arrested, the former champion had his car, a Bentley Continental GT, estimated at US$187 (around R$900), seized.
