“Pantoja is a boy who doesn’t sell fights. I always say that. We want to see marketing, guys insulting each other, challenging each other. Pantoja is very silent. Is he a talent? Yeah, but I don't see that it sells fights. O Kai Kara France is a guy who simply sold against the cody garbrandt”, He stated.

Passed over by Figueiredo, at least so far, Pantoja is going through a great phase within the flyweight division. Today, the athlete is number four in the category and, if he hadn't been injured, he could have faced Brandon Moreno by the belt UFC 269.

Deiveson's promise to his compatriot, with whom he already met and won, in 2019, came after a publication from his former rival. At the time, the athlete regretted the fact that he had lost the chance to fight for the title.

While Figueiredo managed to retake the flyweight throne, Pantoja remains without debuting in the 2022 season. The fighter's last commitment took place in August 2021, when he finished Brandon royval.
