Ultimate promotes an important duel for the future of Alex Poatán towards the middleweight title (up to 83,9kg.), a category led by Israel adesanya. On UFC 277, scheduled to take place on July 30th, the kickboxing legend measures forces against Sean Strickland, still in an undefined location. Despite not yet being ranked in the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg), Poatan showed that he has good morale in Ultimate, after a devastating start. The Brazilian hit Andreas Michailidis e Bruno Blindado in his two fights in the organization. He has a record of six wins and one loss in professional MMA.

On the other hand, Strickland is at a great stage in his career. With his eye on a chance at the title, the North American is on a run of six consecutive victories and, in addition to being fourth in the rankings, has a record of 25 positive results and three negative results.
