Ron Jason started a campaign on Twitter for TUF Brasil 3 to be led by him and Diego Brandao, the two Brazilians who won editions of the UFC reality show that featured the featherweight category. And now Diego has also started working with the idea.
In an interview with Combate.com, Brandão confirmed his interest in being one of the coaches at TUF Brasil 3, as opposed to a team led by Jason. “I see it with good eyes. It would be a great opportunity for both of us”, said Diego. “We are from the North / Northeast of Brazil, we are idols there, so I think it would help a lot in the expansion of the UFC in the region too. I learned a lot when I participated in the program, I believe Jason did too, so we have a lot to teach the kids. I'm going to leave a message for Jason: Hey, Jason, keep running the campaign because I'm doing it too.”
TUF has already been a source of contention among fighters due to a debate over who would have been the first Brazilian champion of the program. While Jason was the first to win a TUF Brazil, Brandão won TUF 14, which took place months before the reality show debuted in Brazil. But the confusion was nothing more than a misunderstanding and the fighters broke up the raids.
Diego Brandao He has an appointment scheduled for this Saturday. He will face Daniel Piñeda at UFC Fight Night 26, an event that will be headlined by the fight between Mauricio Shogun e Chael Sonnen.
