Ninja bets on his brother Shogun against Sonnen: 'He'll knock him out in the first round'

Away from the ring since September last year, when he was defeated by Paulo Filho in a fight held after the official announcement of his retirement, Murilo Ninja now follows in his younger brother's footsteps Mauritius Shogun – something I already did, even when I was an athlete. In an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website, as expected, Ninja expressed confidence in Shogun's victory over Sonnen at UFC Fight Night 26, this Saturday (17).

“My brother will knock him out in the first round. Sonnen will try to take him down and my brother will finish him off early. Sonnen's chance is basically to score points in the ground and pound, but my brother is also dangerous with his back on the ground. Definitely not a good fight for Sonnen. Sonnen is not good on the ground. He has a good wrestling, but we can't compare him with my brother in striking and on the ground. My brother is the favorite, he has more weapons to win”, said the now administrator of a gas station in Curitiba (PR).

This Saturday (17), Mauritius Shogun faces the North American Chael Sonnen in the main fight of UFC Fight Night 26. The event takes place at TD Garden, in Boston (USA). In addition to Shogun, two other Brazilians are also part of the fight night card: Yuri Marajó, which faces Urijah faber, and Diego Brandao, which faces Daniel Pineda.
