Challenged by Sean Strickland, Paulo Borrachinha responds: 'We'll see if he's really a bully'

Through social media, the Brazilian middleweight responded to the challenge made by the North American four months ago

Seeking to recover from the first series of defeats of his career, Paulo borrachinha seems to already have a target set for his next fight in the UFC. Last Thursday night (17), the middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) responded positively to a challenge made by Sean Strickland in November 2021.

In this ocasion, Sean Strickland found himself without a defined opponent after Luke Rockhold get injured and force the cancellation of the duel scheduled for the UFC 268. The North American then ignored a challenge proposed by Darren till and provoked Borrachinha, stating that he would like to face the Brazilian as long as he “put down the wine and cookies”. Borrachinha's response took a few months, but it arrived.

“Let’s do this, mouse. We'll see if he's really a bully. No sporting spirit for this rat”, wrote Borrachinha alongside “prints” with reports about the challenge made by Strickland in 2021.

It remains to be seen if Sean Strickland is still interested in the duel. At the time of the challenge, the North American was in seventh place in the rankings. Since then, however, “Tarzan” has defeated Jack hermansson in February and recorded his sixth consecutive victory, reaching fourth place, tied with Borrachinha and Derek Brunson.

Another challenge aimed at Paulo borrachinha, this most recent one, came from Luke Rockhold, who is looking for an opponent for his return to the octagon after almost three years away. Asked by a follower, the Brazilian assured that, after Strickland, the former champion is the next name on his list.
