Historic event for Magomed Ankalayev. Executioner of Thiago Marreta in the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 50, the Russian will have plenty of reasons to celebrate the triumph over the Brazilian this Saturday (12). Victorious in the unanimous decision of the judges, the athlete reached the mark of eight positive results in a row and now shares with Lyoto Machida the second position among the company's longest winning streaks in light heavyweights (up to 93kg.).

Considered a promise for the under-93kg division, Ankalaev has been worthy of the organization's investment. Dominant against Marreta, the athlete only lost in his debut with the company, when he was submitted by Paul Craig.
In the UFC's select list, the fighter shares second place in the longest winning streaks with Machida, former champion of the group, with eight consecutive victories. Ahead of the athletes is nothing more, nothing less, than Jon Jones, who has 13 straight wins.
In addition to taking on a historic role in the company, Magomed has more reasons to celebrate. The victory over Marreta should definitely see the Russian reach the top 5 in the category.
Before facing Thiago, Ankalaev was in sixth place. Now, the fighter sees a title fight more closely.
