Even though he is experiencing his worst moment as a professional in MMA, Conor McGregor continues with its old prestige within Ultimate. Recovering from a serious injury suffered in the trilogy against Dustin poirier, in July 2021, the Irishman can, in fact, return to the octagon with an immediate fight for the lightweight title (up to 70,3kg.). In an interview with 'The Underground', Dana White, president of the UFC, indicated that he will not oppose giving the opportunity to 'Notório', but there is an important consideration.

“It will depend on who the champion is. The champion has a say in the decision, too. Who will be the champion when Conor McGregor to go back? What does he want to do?” White said.
The agent then used the current owner of the lightweight title as an example. After overcoming Dustin poirier, in December 2021, Charles of the Bronx was excited for the opportunity to face McGregor and put his throne on the line.
“If you look at Oliveira (Charles), if he's still the champion when he (McGregor) comes back, he might want to face Conor. Who knows. Let’s see what happens,” he concluded.
The first double UFC champion, McGregor is going through his worst moment as a professional in MMA. The athlete has two consecutive defeats, both to Poirier, something unprecedented in his career so far.
