Victim of Charles of the Bronx in his unsuccessful attempt to become the absolute lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) of Ultimate, Dustin poirier continues to preach respect for the Brazilian star. In analyzing the São Paulo native's next commitment, 'Diamante' bet on the Tupiniquim's versatility in the face of the aggressiveness of Justin gaethje. The fighters face each other in the UFC 274, on May 7th.

“Charles has more ways to win. Justin (to win) needs to knock him out. I believe that Charles can knock out, he can also submit, or win on points”, said Poirier, in an interview with 'Inside Fighting'.

“I’m not saying Gaethje won’t knock him out. Charles is a guy who can handle a lot of attacks. In your last two fights, if he was injured, he usually finishes you off. He has a lot of strength, so if you are touched, he may not recover. It’s an interesting matchup,” he concluded.
