With 11 years of experience in professional MMA, Jared Cannonier he goes to the fight that can bring him closer to the maximum consecration of an athlete. Next Saturday (12), the fighter will face Derek Brunson in the second most important fight of the event. Aware of the focus for the duel, the North American is confident that he has already done 'everything' and hopes for a chance to compete for the title in case of another victory.

“I mean, yes (I expect a title shot). who else is there? There is no one else. There is no other clear candidate at this time. So, (will it be a fight between) number 3 x number 4 in the UFC rankings? Yes”, said Cannonier in an interview at the event’s media day.
Asked about his preferred opponent for the eventual dispute, 'Killa Gorilla' stated that he is just waiting for the fight between Israel adesanya e Robert whittaker. In fact, Jared believes that he can still face both athletes in his journey through the division.
"I don't mind. I'm not expecting a loss to Robert (Whittaker) thinking I can face him. And I don't look up either, looking forward to a duel with Adesanya. It's a fight and whoever it is, I'm going to do my best. I know the fans love this type of match and I want it. For me, both are good challenges. If I fight one, I must fight another next”, he concluded.
With an eye on an unprecedented title fight, Cannonier has recorded four victories in his last five appearances. The athlete's last fight took place in August 2021, when he overcame Kelvin Gastelum by points. In his career, there are 14 triumphs – over names like Anderson Silva, Jack hermansson e Ion cutelaba – and five setbacks.
